Model trains on display
HAYS -- Thousands of model trains are expected to be on display at the Western Kansas Train Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Ellis County Fair Grounds, 1344 Fairgrounds in Hays.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children ages 12 and younger with a paid adult.
Layouts from across Kansas and Nebraska will be set up in both buildings of the fairgrounds. Steam, diesel, Thomas, passenger trains and modern freight trains will be running on the layouts. Dealers from across the Midwest are expected. They will have many scales of trains, including N, HO, O and G.74.
The railroad museum in Ellis will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
