WaKEENEY -- Dream Inc. will have a camp June 28 through July 2 for children who have family members affected by alcohol or drug addiction.
The camp is held at the Dream Inc. camp/retreat facility at Cedar Bluff Lake off of Interstate Highway 70 near WaKeeney.
Dream Inc. is a nonprofit organization created in 1988 to work with children, ages 9 through 12, who have a parent, stepparent, sibling or other close family member who has struggled with abuse of alcohol or other substances.
The camp offers children education about chemical addiction and provides tools to help them cope with the loved one who has an addiction. It also helps children build self-esteem and learn how to keep from developing a drug or alcohol addiction.
The children also swim, do crafts and are offered companionship and support.
