Smoky Hill Museum has Kansas Day Open House

Smoky Hill Museum to have open house

The Smoky Hill Museum will celebrate the 148th birthday of Kansas with a Kansas Day Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 211 W. Iron.

Activities include pioneer games and presentations on how to make butter and what to take on a long trek west.

There also will be a Kansas birthday cake and refreshments.

Admission is free.

Housing leaders to speak at lunch

Larry Pankratz and Ted Hauser will speak at The League of Women Voters Lunch and Learn program from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Prescott Room at the Salina Public Library, 301 W. Elm.

Pankratz, director of the Salina Housing Authority, and Hauser, director of the Community Housing Development Organization of Salina, will discuss how the two agencies work together, and the development of projects, including the transitional housing facility.

The Tescott Lions Pancake Day is Feb. 7

TESCOTT -- The Tescott Lions Pancake Day will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Lions Building.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, chili, pie and drinks. Bulk sausage also will be offered for sale.

Cost of the meal is by donation.
