NORTON — Six people were injured Tuesday when the car they were riding in rolled after leaving the road in Norton County.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Damien C. Davis, 15, of Norton, was driving west on Kansas Highway 383 when he drove off the north shoulder and then back onto the highway, skidding into the south shoulder and striking the south ditch at 6:05 p.m. just over a mile east of Kansas Highway 60.
The car rolled and landed on its wheels, the report said.
Davis and passengers Anthony Anderson, 12, of Almena, and Levi Anderson, 18, of Almena, were treated at Norton County Hospital. Passenger Alma Anderson, 86, of Almena, was admitted to the hospital for observation.
Passengers Paul Davis, 63, and Peggy Davis, 61, both of Prairieview, were transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb., where they were in serious condition Wednesday.

Read the Kansas law, 15 is legal, if you have a restricted or farmers permit as long as there is a licensed 21 y/o or higher in the front seat.

Levi Anderson says....
18-year-old Levi Anderson here. Everyone is doing well, no fatalities and one broken leg. The worst-hurt will be undergoing surgery should everything be ideal. We're sore, but we're okay. Were it not for the outstanding people of southern Nebraska and northern Kansas, there'd surely not be 6 of us to this day. Thank you all for your outstanding support. Also, whoever the owner of the floral towel is, thanks!

What a shame, and moreso that the more seriously injured were the ones not wearing seat belts.
