Hard to consider it an upset when both teams are evenly matched. As far as moving up to 3A, many of the recent sc teams would have won 3A and 4A state.

This is for "a Kansas fan!!". You actually have it wrong I don't go for ANY pro or college team that is from Kansas. KU basketball is all you have and even they aren't reliable.

Congrats to both teams!!! It's awesome to see long streaks like that in Kansas.

Smith Center congrats!!! I have been a fan for many years and watch my own children go thru a wonderful school system. You have a lot to be proud of having a winning streak that goes back alot of years!!! Thank you Coach Barta and all for all you do for the kids of Smith Center.

Congrats to a team who has had many years of success. One game does not make a losing season, Smith Center has an elite program with coaches, parents and athletes who care about developing success in with America's youth.

All good things do come to an end sometimes...now they can start another long winning streak. As to "Just Wondering"...I suppose you are just one of those people who like any Kansas team that is winning...a bandwagoner...ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK KU!!!!!

Thank you Smith Center says....
It is sad that they lost. But Smith Center football is about more then winning. The boys learn to be men from Coach Barta.

Congrats to Both Teams says....
The city population of Centralia is only 534, versus 1,931 for Smith Center. Centralia really accomplished something to beat an undefeated team from a town that is almost four times their size! However, I still think the future of HS sports will be in Wii games and scholastic competitions played over the internet in the gym, so the fuel costs for travel will be almost nothing and head traumas and spinal cord paralysis will be things of the past.

It would have been to see an article about Centralia WINNING instead of Smith Center losing! Where where the interviews from the Centralia coaches, players, parents & business owners?

I can't believe all the mean-spirited people in here that are relishing in Smith Center's loss! Shame on you all. Smith Center has been a proud spot in sports in Kansas for a long time and hopefully they'll continue winning for a long time to come.

Not a Redman fan says....
Glad they lost...now they'll feel like the rest of us who got stomped on from SC all these years....don't think they will find 3A as easy as they think...

Thank god they lost. Now we can stop talking about their winning streak. Oh wait that's all people in kansas have when it comes to sports. Kansas City baseball and football sucks. K-State and KU are nothing to brag about either.

I think the chamber should get Roger Barta to speak instead of Sarah Palin. Makes more sense.
