King Center earns accreditation
The Martin Luther King Jr. Child Development Center has earned its accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Earning the organization's accreditation requires meeting a series of 10 standards, and more than 400 specific criteria; once accredited, the center is subject to unannounced inspections.
Roughly 8 percent of preschools and other early childhood programs nationwide are accredited through NAEYC.
The accreditation is good for five years.
