Salinan injured in altercation

A Salina man was clocked with a clock Saturday at a Halloween party at a bar.
David D. Helvey, 25, 1012 E. Ellsworth, could face a charge of aggravated battery. He is accused of hitting Eric C. Campbell in the face with a clock on a chain that was part of a Halloween costume, said Capt. Brian Shea of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
Campbell was treated at Salina Regional Health Center for injuries to his eye, Shea said.
The incident occurred at 12:26 a.m. Sunday at Outlaws, 1676 W. State.

While the SO was there, did they take notice of how many people were in the club? I bet it was way over the fire code safety limit, but they all look the other way for outlaws. I hope nothing every happens that someone get hurt real bad or killed because Saline County or Salina keeps looking the other way. When does the good ole boy syndrome stop and you treat everyone equal?

Just Wondering says....
Go figure the comment I put on here did not get posted. Well if they decided to post this one I will repeat what I said in the first one. Maybe the Salina PD can concentrate more on other bars rather than feed on the patrons downtown. It looks like Outlaws and its patrons are doing the samething that the patrons downtown are doing except the PD in this town ignore everyone but the people downtown.

For the 333 line: I see they are talking of increases taxes. I would not object to that as long as those in Topeka do not use it to increase their wages. Since Social Security is not being increased , due to no cost of living increase, neither should their wages be increased sinced their cost of living did not increase either.

This comment is to "Julie". I agree with you that cleaning up both would be great but all I was pointing out is that the SO or the PD only focus on one area and the other. I also agree that I bet Outlaws was way over the capacity limit. Its always is over capacity but I have yet to see anything done about it. Overall both places need to cleaned up but maybe some more attention needs to be dedicated to policing Outlaws.
