Clifton-Clyde district earns state honors

The Clifton-Clyde School District has been named "Highest Performing Academic School District in Kansas" for student performance on the state assessment tests in the spring of 2009.

On those tests, all of the district's schools placed in the top 5 percent statewide in both math and reading.

Clifton-Clyde High School placed 14th in the state on the tests, Clifton-Clyde Middle School placed 14th and Clifton-Clyde Grade School was the highest performing elementary school in Kansas.

In December, the district will be visited by Kansas State Board of Education member Kathy Martin and state Commissioner of Education Diane Debacker, who will observe teaching and learning in the schools.
