2 hurt, traffic snarled after 1-135 crash

11/4/2009

One person was flown to a Wichita hospital and another was being treated in the emergency room at  Salina Regional Health Center Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle crash that closed down a portion of Interstate Highway 135 for a part of the afternoon.

Salina Police Department master patrol officer Rande Repp said the vehicles were southbound on I-135, south of Schilling Road, around 4 p.m. when one changed lanes and sideswiped the other. One of the vehicles crossed the median, struck a guard rail, then spun out and landed in a fence.

The names of the people involved were not released.

Two people were taken to Salina Regional Health Center, Repp said. One was flown to Wesley Medical Center, according to a nursing supervisor.

Condition reports were not immediately available.
