Two burglaries, involving a home and a church, both with losses in excess of $1,500, were reported over the weekend.
Emmanuel Christian Center, 1325 E. Cloud, reported a break-in that occurred sometime after 11 p.m. Friday and before 7 p.m. Saturday. Missing is a Martin acoustic guitar valued at $1,000, a guitar amp worth $300, an Apple computer and monitor worth $1,000, a Wii video game and an unknown quantity of Monster energy drink and candy.
A resident who lives in the 600 block of Front Street told police that on Saturday evening, between 8:30 and 11, someone kicked in the door to the home and stole $400 in cash, two digital cameras, a 35 mm camera, and an assortment of electronic games equipment. The loss was estimated at $1,750.

Perhaps you should pound the pavement where these so called criminals are and hold a youth service for them where they live maybe they will fill more comfortable. If you really want the youth to attend church and change their lives then you need to find other was to get them to see what GOD has in store for them. Maybe you will forgive them but what about the poor idiotic cops?

Hello people. I am the youth pastor at Emmanuel and I just thought it was funny that someone took offense to the writings on the monster energy drinks. Kinda funny but I understand your train of thought. If Monsters were really my secret plot to manipulate and get kids in my youth group then your right that would be pretty pothetic. I HATE bate and switch ministry and I would love to meet anyone who feels I do ministry that way and have lunch so they can talk me through a "better" way. I am always open to new friendships and constructive criticism. In regards to the other things stolen I hope they are as much of a blessing to those who stole it as it was to me. The guitar I bought in 7th grade after picking strawberry's in Oregon for several years to save up and buy it. It was more personal to me. And by any chance if the person who stole the items reads this I want them to know that although they need to own up and accept the consequences of their actions, if they were in such a dying need of money they should just have asked for help. If the Items are returned that would be awesome. Thanks salina for being a great community.

I urge that whoever stole the Martin guitar to return it to the youth pastor. He will forgive you and probably let you use it if you want to join in the youth worship band.

What does Monster energy drink play into gods love? Oh thats right, its a method to get kids into church! It wasnt right what they did but the methods churches use to get kids is not right either. Bate and switch. These lessons should be taught at home!

If we could just reach out to these young people and show them what Gods love can do to change thier lives. We have to show them by our example, by not judging them for the way they look or talk. We just need to love them and show them a better way.

Why do we as American Citzens "the Home of the Free and the Brave"have to live in fear and unsafety even in our own homes. Older people that don't have the courage or the stamina that we used to have in our younger years shoulld not have to live this way. What is it going to take to see that those doing these things get the education they need that thy no longer want to live this life of crime. We as a free country have to make education possibe financialy that they can afford to come to classe and get the training they need to improve their lives without putting a finacial burden on them. Let us learn to help them so they see what way is the right way and that they want to change their ways so we can live together in peace.

I think it is really sad when someone has to lower themselves to breaking into a church and stealing things that are used to make people lives worth more. The fact is these two people need the helpl from the church themselves. Please give yourselves up and return the things to the church. Your life will be much better because of it. God will forgive you and if he can forgive you maybe the people of the church can forgive you too.
