Kansas Academy to host preview day
HAYS -- The Kansas Academy of Math and Science will hold a preview day at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Fort Hays State University campus.
The preview will address the academic program, admissions requirements, student development opportunities and a tour of the Fort Hays State lab facilities and campus.
Prospective students will have the opportunity to tour all of the college's basic lab facilities and listen to presentations by instructors in the Department of Geosciences and the Department of Mathematics. Time has been allotted to visit with the academy faculty, staff and first-year students.
The academy expects 40 Kansas high school juniors and seniors to enroll in its second class in the fall of 2010. Prospective students must have completed two years of high school or the equivalent with distinction in math and science. They must also have a 23 composite score on the ACT or a 1060 score on the SAT.
