Youth symphony competition Monday

The fifth annual Salina Youth Symphony Concerto Competition will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at Sams Chapel, on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.

Five young musicians will compete for an opportunity to perform with the Salina Symphony at its season finale on May 2. The competition will feature performances by the following members of the Salina Youth Symphony: Michelle Dennis, violin; Trisha Herbert, French horn; Amy Kraus, clarinet; Ann Nguyen, oboe; and Jake Thompson, viola.

Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
