Sheriff seeks information about how dog was shot

2/10/2012
By the Salina Journal
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about how a German shepherd dog was shot in the leg.
The dog, owned by James Brown, who lives in the 2700 block of West State Street, had to have its leg amputated this week, said Sheriff Glen Kochanowski.
Kochanowski said Brown observed the animal limping Monday and thought perhaps the animal had been hit by a car. He took the dog to a Salina veterinarian, who determined the injury was a gunshot wound.
Kochanowski said the dog apparently was shot between 1 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office, 826-6500.
