Nathan Tysen is planning a busy Sunday after Christmas.

He first will appear in the two-person musical "The Last 5 Years" on Dec. 28 at the Salina Community Theatre with former Salinan Emily Thompson. After that, he plans to join his pop-rock band Joe's Pet Project as part of a benefit concert beginning at 7 p.m. at The Blue Goat, 232 N. Santa Fe.

Following that, Joe's Pet Project will give a late-night concert across the street at the Paramount Bar, 219 N. Santa Fe.

"That's going to be a long Sunday," he said.

The benefit is the third annual Love, Chloe Benefit Concert to assist families with children diagnosed with cancer. The Love, Chloe Foundation is a local nonprofit named after Chloe Watson, a 7-year-old Salina girl who died in October 2007 of a brain tumor.

The concert is from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Blue Goat. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. It is a smoke-free event.

All proceeds from the benefit will go to the Love, Chloe Foundation.

Headlining will be Ryan McCall and Ben Romans, who will perform a duo piano concert. McCall, a graduate of Salina South High School, is a musician living and working in Kansas City, Mo. Romans, a graduate of Salina Central High School, is the keyboardist for the popular rock band Click Five.

"I've known Ben since high school, and between us we know so many songs," McCall said. "It's the fourth time we've played duo piano together and the third Christmas we've done the Chloe concert. It's really a treat for the both of us."

Joe's Pet Project, which features McCall on keyboards, will perform several songs at the benefit.

Tickets for the benefit concert are available at The Blue Goat, The Paramount Bar, 219 N. Santa Fe, and at House of Sight and Sound, 1300 S. Santa Fe.
