ELLSWORTH -- Lee Ann Beagley, 53, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in Ellsworth. She was born March 16, 1955, in Bridgeport, TX, the daughter of Marvin Don and Mary Jon Cates White. She was a waitress at Padens Place Café, Ellsworth, and a member of United Methodist Church, Kanopolis.
On Dec 29, 1973, she married Larry Beagley in Kanopolis. He survives. Other survivors include son, Lance, Wichita; daughter, Lisa, Ellsworth; brother, Billy White, Wichita; mother, Mary Jon, and Bill Fleming, Ellsworth; stepbrother, Billy Fleming, Kanopolis; stepsisters, Diane Mangels, Parker, CO, and Barb Holm, Ellsworth.
Funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, May 19, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with Pastor Stephen Holmes presiding. Burial in Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery. SMITH CENTER -- Carrol Ray Booz, 87, died May 14, 2008. He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Portis to Charles and Mae (Bradskey) Booz. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Booz, of Smith Center.

Madelyn (Anderson) was born on June 25, 1919, in Burlington, CO.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Edward.
Surviving family includes daughters, Vera Kay McKee, Marlene Whiteker, Jackie Zion, Jane Philbrick and Victoria Halbleib.

Vaneta "Neat" Henshall
Vaneta "Neat" Henshall, 88, Salina, passed away May 13, 2008. She was born Vaneta L. O'Neil on April 8, 1920.
Neat was a lifetime resident of Salina and was known to many as the owner of A&W Kentucky Fried Chicken for 18 years and then Neat's Video.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlene Hoskins.
Survivors include her husband, John A. Henshall, of Salina; a daughter, Pat Blick Richards of Papillion, NE; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be Monday at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina.
Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the memorial chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. and prior to service.

PHILLIPSBURG -- Maranda Lynn Kester, 24, passed away May 14, 2008, at Phillips County Hospital, Phillipsburg. She was born April 3, 1984, in Alma, NE, and was a CNA at Phillips County Hospital.
Maranda Kester is survived by her husband, Nathan; two daughters, Harley Drew and Sierra Ann, all of the home in Phillipsburg; her stepdaughter, Hayleigh Faye Marie Vahle of Kensington, KS; her parents, Richard & Linette Conner, of Long Island, KS; brothers, Gary Warren Conner and Randal Dean West, both of Phillipsburg; sisters, Mary Annette Bohl of Phillipsburg, Doris May Cooper of Avon, IN, and Tina Marie Conner of Missouri; and maternal grandparents, Don & Beulah Vahle of Long Island.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Long Island United Methodist Church, Long Island, the Rev. Dean Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Long Island Cemetery, Long Island.

NORTON -- Jimmie L. Shewey, 48, died Sunday, May 11, 2008. He was born Aug. 20, 1959, in Norton. He worked at Norton State Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Shawn; a daughter, Dawn Hock and husband Josh; and his mother, Clara Shewey, all of Norton; two brothers, George (Nadine) and Gerald; four sisters, Helen Shewey, Julia (Larry) Jellison, Rosie Lentz and Karen (Brian) Anderson; two grandchildren, Joshua and MyKayla Hock; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth. On May 17, 1950, she married Gilbert G. Smischny. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Gilbert J. Smischny Jr., Ellsworth; granddaughter, Sarah Crampton, Ellsworth; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Emilee and Kelvi. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Ellsworth.
