The Solomon Basin Advisory Committee is one of 12 such groups in the state. The committees advise the Kansas Water Authority on local and state water issues, serve as a sounding board for state-initiated policy, and share water resource information with basin residents. The Kansas Water Authority proposes water resource policy for consideration by the Governor and Kansas Legislature. The February 18th meeting will focus on basin issues to be forwarded for consideration for continued efforts or developed as new areas to be addressed.
One item for Committee review and consideration will be the Kansas Water Plan 2007 Status Report that includes basin-by-basin information. The Report and the meeting agenda is available on the Kansas Water Office website at www.kwo.org or may be obtained by calling the Kansas Water Office at (785) 296-3185 or (888) KAN-WATER (526-9283).
Contact the Kansas Water Office if special accommodations are needed at the meeting site. For further information about the meeting, call Diane Coe, Kansas Water Office water resource planner.
Note to Editor: The Americans with Disabilities Act, (42 U.S.C. 12101), requires the Kansas Water Office to print the reasonable accommodations message.
