Yashira Ramos-Gonzalez, 27, was arrested at Wal-Mart at 3:16 p.m. after she attempted to pick up a prescription for 50 tablets of Tramadol. Salina Police Capt. Mike Sweeney said the pharmacist had become suspicious when the prescription was phoned in the day before and called to verify it with the doctor’s office. The pharmacist was told the prescription was fraudulent.
Sweeney said police determined that Ramos-Gonzalez had acquired refills of another pain medication from Salina Regional Health Center on eight occasions between Dec. 10 and Feb. 25 by claiming to be a nurse calling from a doctor’s office.
Ramos-Gonzalez also may face charges for giving police a false name when she was being arrested.
