Vernon C. Brown Sr., 78, of Salina, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009. Vernon was born July 20, 1931, in Verdi to George and Marie Brown. He worked for the Salina Fire Department for 18 years, then as a general contractor until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian; one son, Vernon Jr. and wife Trinette Brown, of Salina; four daughters, Jayne and husband Mark Benson, of Salina, Regina and husband Mark Wright, of Platteville, Colo., Joane and husband Brian Schmitt, of Salina, and Sylvia Dillow, of Concordia; one brother, Frank and wife Kay Brown, of Salina; one sister, Edith and husband Frank Stransky, of Hesperia, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov 23, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina. There is no visitation.
